Almost everything, but with invalueable help of my wife,
especially in creating kind and friendly atmosphere so that models can
relax and work at their top potential.
How did you get involved with Restrained Elegance?
I shoot bondage pictures for quite a time already, and my
pictures can be found on many sites and personal collections, but
until RE I worked only in "girl-next-door" style. Several
photographer's education courses here in Siberia changed it all in
late summer of 2008. I tried to shoot my regular models in studio
environment, and the very first experiment turned to be a success,
when Hywel agreed to take several sets of my best model - Delta - for
Do you have a personal interest in bondage?
Yes, and very large one. To be short, I simply can't imagine my
life without bondage. I'm switch in bondage.
What's your favourite RE set?
I like many sets, so I can't say that one single set is better
than another in my list.
What's your favourite set you've been on the production team for?
Every set that I'm working on is my favourite - when I'm working
on it. When it comes to reviewing all sets later, well, then every set
is unique, because bondage for me is all about feelings... Sorry for
evading your question. :)
What do you think about when you are working on bringing a
set/video/picture from an idea to the finished thing?
I'm quite rarely have an idea that burns my mind and demand
realization. :) Usually I look at model, her clothes, and take a rope
(or a chain, or a cuffs) in my hands, and then ideas comes to my mind.
The only thing left is to choose from several ideas. And I think about
process, model's safety, and we chat about everything - the weather,
her plans, her boyfriends, her work and/or study...
I like science fiction, both Russian and international. Isaac
Asimov and Arthur Clarke, for example. They have a lot of good books.
Star Wars, especially original trilogy.
Favourite TV programme
News on Russian TV.
Soundtracks from favourite movies and Japan melodies.
What bit of gear wouldn't you be without?
My camera and a rope.
What equipment do you use?
For studio shoots I use Canon 400D and its kit lense. Sometimes
use 50/1.8 for portraits. Sometimes I change to Sony DSC R1, it has
excellent capabilities for studio work.
